1971 Honda CL350
« on: October 07, 2016, 05:26:18 PM »
Tank has minor leak, the tank is full so the leak has stopped, it seems to be at the seam of the tank. The rust must have stopped the leak. The bike does not start, doesn't have a battery, has good compression.

I need help making a decision on what direction to go with this bike, I don't like the CL line and don't want to keep it. Do I part this out, list it as is, fix it and list it?

please chime in.

POR15 the tank, and if you decide to sell it you can get $1500 or more, in that condition (at least, around here...).
I saw one like it (not as nice) sell for $2100 last summer.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

If you can wait a while, advertise it locally and sit on it. Somebody WILL buy it. That one is almost pristine in its present state
compared to the ones that are left. PLEASE don't part it.
That one deserves to be roadworthy again. Try going over to "hondatwins.net".

Nice. Very nice.  POR15 is definitely recommended for that fuel tank. But you might braze the hole first after the cleaning and etching steps because that hole might be too big for the urethane to patch.
