True and thanks, I put the correct Honda handlebars for Europe on it because I got them by accident but really like them and did the K2 stripe because the Gold/black/white pearl looks so good on the brown paint. Otherwise it's pretty correct.  I decided I'm ordering the fender and a set of K1 euro length throttle cables.
In my rush to finish it and move on to other projects I put the cart ahead of the horse a little, time to go back and do a few things that I let go for the sake of using what I had here and what came with it.

This one was bought with the intention to sell, but it's really going to be difficult to part with. My wife says sell my other ones.

Its turned out to be a pretty nice bike for a River Runner! ;D
Keep it a while before you decide to thin the herd...  It will give you perspective.

You did good with this one in a short period of time. The way that it is nice when things fall into place.

Thanks for the compliments and encouragement. I realized I never dropped the oil pan, I'll do that before riding it back to the little Brit bike shop I got it from to show it off. He bought a cherry 80's 6,000 mile 750, that's cool, he can keep the dohc's and send me the sohc's.

Dropped the pan today, it's as clean as any I ever saw. Good deal, I removed the cam chain adjuster and cleaned it up, lubed it and reinstalled. I adjusted, rotated and adjusted again per the Honda book.  And there is a points plate screw broken off flush I drilled it after expending all other methods I had at my disposal. So far I haven't gotten it all out.

How do you pop the head off a JIS screw?

With the right size drill bit...same as a Philips screw.  Right?

What kind of screw was broken off, aluminum plate and steel screw?

A new looking points plate, steel screw with a phillips (JIS) head snapped off. The guy that worked on this bike was a Gorilla. I got it drilled out and removed the bolt, I tapped it and put in allen head screws that go a little deeper with antisieze and tightened just enough. I re-gapped the points to the narrow side and the timing fell right back into place. I cleaned and lubed the advancer. After I buttoned it up I thought about Hondamans mod to the advancer springs. It has the early notched weights. I may still do the springs, get the timing light out and check the advance.

I'll have another look at the plugs and I think I'm at the end of the list.
I really want to put more miles on it, this is the first bike I've redone without getting to know it first. So far my instincts were right. She's a sweetie.

Re-doos today. I checked the timing with the engine running, right where I wanted it. I swapped out the old sticky push cable for a new full set of Cruizin images cables for low bars. They were the perfect length. I swapped on a set of their front brake lines, those were great as far as the hoses, the hard line not so much. The caliper end didn't seal and after a lot of fussing with it I polished up the old one and put it back on, still better than original hoses safety wise. I put a set of Kevlar pads on it that I've been wanting to try, the stock pads were breaking in nicely but I had these and wanted to try a set. The 2-3 coil is a 1-4 for some reason so I cut the wires back and trimmed the other two a little. The caps checked good.

The oil pressure switch was acting up so it got swapped for a new one, now the light works fine and every time. I swapped the headlight ring for a nicer one while it was apart for checking the wiring.  The old river route runner gets a little better with every ride. There are a couple drips of fork oil on the left side so it went back on the lift.

Edit, the k4 that was on the lift is leaking at the fork, I guess I missed it.

Glad you got the old screw out without issue. I have had terrible luck with steel screws in auto blocks...
She is definitely a keeper, eh?

Out of the ones here, my brothers bought new K4 would be the optimal cb750 to take, it has a vetter plug on it already and the clamps are still on the frame. I'm thinking of coming from Sturgis and traveling on the west side of the Rockies but haven't researched it yet.
I'm looking at 6 days in the seat not counting riding there, I sold el cheapo goldwingo but spent the money on the cheaper goldwinger. It would be hard to leave it home on a ride that far.

Rode the river runner to a car show, shook the needle off the speedo and the left fork leaked on the new brake.

Good job Don, thank goodness nobody bought it yet.

I've been riding it and love it. If it weren't for all of the other bikes here I'd just keep it. Car show tomorrow. I'll begin repairing the speedo soon. I have new faces and will try to repair or replace the trip set.

The gears are pretty tricky when dissambling and reassembling.  Personally I would love to see the SOHC4 there but going the way you are going...I would be sorely tempted to just ride the Wing.  The desert around Vegas if going that far south... can be quite brutal in the August heat I am told.

I think I will be using Mesh gear and pull out the liner and fleece layers when it gets wet or cold or both.  Might wear shorts beneath the mesh pants when going through hot humid areas.  Both have water resistant liners and A rainsuit over that gear can be used to ensure I can try to stay dry. Don't have the luxury of being able to carry a heavier textile jacket plus the mesh jacket, just too bulky.

The fine folks at DSS sold another set of 4-4's and that guy has the pipe I needed and I have the extra one he needed. Yamiya hasn't been very understanding so now DSS is asking for the extra muffler back. Would have been better 4 months ago before I got attached to it, and threw away the box, and dinged it. Looks like I'm buying it now. I'm waiting on their best price after seeing the ding pic. I did admit it was mine. They've been very nice about it all and I want to keep them on good terms since I have more bikes to re-do.

Nope, I put on a nicer looking set of K1 gauges and promptly shook off the speedo needle. I'm putting new faces on the old ones soon and will list it again. Also that way, the miles are what I believe to be correct.

It's the best running one I've had next to my sandcast and I like it a lot but have to be realistic about why I bought 2 collections and one single 750.  I had $5K on it but could drop it $1200 by keeping the new 4-4 pipes and putting on a set of 4-1's.

Sold her to DSS, going to England. Any bike I build to sell will be 2013 Honda tiger eye pearl. I can't even guess how many people asked about the color.
