The show was alot of fun.  Meet a John and Craig  from here with their amazing cb's. Outside the water pump going out on the truck coming home, it was great.  Got a free cb450, rd350 with a ton of parts, and a cb900f motor.

Thanks!  I was happy with the haul.  That was until i had to get the cb900f motor out of the back of the truck.  Holy boat anchor!

Yeah that's their "thing" i guess.

The funny thing is the rd isn't even bad,  motor is free and the wheels are damn nice with brand new rubber.  Just need a front axle and i'll have it in a roller.  The 400 tank was only lightly in a fire.  Thankfully, not a dent on it, and no distortion from heat.

Now that cb450 is a different story.  she was in a fire and lived outside a shed in central Missouri for quite a while.  I seem to love the roached bikes these days.  You should see my pair of gt550's i have.  if you're gonna have a project, might as well go with the hard ones. (that's what i keep telling myself)

Goldie was certainly juxtaposed by the other bikes and parts on the truck on the return trip...about as far apart in conditionas one can have.
I hope you are Not using burned out bike frames.

haha, yeah it was.

Not at all,  i inspect the frame on every bike when i go to build them.  For any questionable repairs, straightness, twist and rot.  It takes alot of heat to damage a frame and if the sheet metal isn't warped, then it appears to have just been something electrical at some point. the 450 just had the wire harness burn up.  one of the metal is distorted or anything bad.

I’ve been lazy on posting updates.  Goldie made the trip to Texas for the handbuilt show and the following week made it into bikeexif.  Such a great time.  Lately been racking miles up and working any bugs out of her.  So far just two loose bolts to tighten on random items.  Then she went to the dyno.  More to come

Up to 200 miles on the bike and every time I smile more with it.  It’s a blast to ride.  One shift rod bolt got loose and one switch came loose and that’s it for shaking her down.

Made it to the dyno to see how’s she is tuned.  I knew she was a little rich.  Baseline it had a hell of a dip when the cam was coming on.  We dropped the needles two positions and removed the baffle from the pipe and that smoothed it right out.  Next we went from 92 mains down to 90’s and it was amazing.  We gained right about 4 horse with those changes.

We started off right about 35 hp and ended at 39.2 hp and 23.3 ft lbs with a great curve on the power.  We were cutting it off at 9500.  I’ll see if i can figure out how to load the video
