Hello all, i have been on here a while back and am back on line so hi again, I have a sort of 750/4 supersport f2, it probably wont be to the taste of most on here as its a sort of ratty chop butchered thing, But i enjoy it even if it is an uncomfy, rattly vibrating slug, an i wouldnt change it for anything cus i made it, when i figure out how to add a pic i will.cheers

Ha ha, only cos they deserve it Tim! Hey it's hotter than Texas here mate, we got bush fires like you wouldn't believe, already lost 1 million acres and the whole state is blanketed in smoke, still, it's great drinking weather! :)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I bet our fires here in BC are smokier than your fires!! AND we also get to enjoy the smoke from fires in the Pacific north-west of the states.

Buull#$%*e Nick, you wouldn't know a bushfire if it bit you on the arrse! The fires here are so big, we don't try to put them out, we just wait for them to burn from coast to coast, and just rebuild what populaced areas were destroyed along the fires path! Ha ha, just kidding, but these fires are the worst on record, so that's pretty bad, even for a country used to big fires.

I had my last day at work before Christmas yesterday, so I rode my BMW K1100LT, was a great ride, 60 miles each way, and the fire-fighters should love me because as soon as I wheeled it outta my garage the rain started falling down for the first time in weeks, (months?) and we all  got a good soaking and most of the fires were contained, or extinguished, so all the fire-fighters can go home for Christmas, and that's good.

It's been burning fiercely around Mt Hotham and Mt Bulla for the last 20 days but guess what? On Christmas Day it's gonna snow! No BS mate, probably the first "White Christmas" in Oz, ever! If I wasn't going to the wife's Mom's place for Christmas lunch, I'd drive the family up there, it'd be truly magic I reckon?

For you guys who see snow all the time it probably doesn't mean much, but here in Oz we've normally got the aircon going full pelt, as it's usually in the high 90's or hotter, on Christmas Day! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Hey Terry. If it does end up snowing the white stuff make sure you send pics. We will post pics if our white stuff melts and we end up having a brown Christmas

Merry Christmas to one and all!!! (even those who like Vegemite).

Thanks mate, and if it does snow up in the mountains, there'll be plenty of pics, for sure! Merry Christmas! Cheers, Terry. ;D

Good luck with the snow Tell. Got to put that damn fire out, it was over a 365km front last week I heard. Good to see some K1W1 firefighters over there helping out but some of our boys got caught and burnt pretty bad.

Speaking of fires, the last two days here have been very wet and about 8 to 10 degrees C so that has been a mindf*ck for the holiday season. But I sure wouldn't want to swap. Merry Christmas to all forum members, peace and goodwill to all......TC10

G'Day TC, mate, the weather has changed completely, it was 108 deg F this time last week, and now it's down to a chilly 60? F*cking unbelieveable! Those Kiwi firefighters are ok mate, they're tough buggers and we appreciate their help, the fires are really scary due to the drought, so far we've been lucky so far, only "collateral damage", so to speak.

It's been lightly showering on and off all day, so hopefully the fires are just about all out by now, and the firefighters can have a rest. You have a good one mate, is the "Great Kiwi BMW Adventure" on again in 2007? Merry Christmas everyone! Cheers, Terry.  ;D

Hey Terry (and other Ozies),

I always knew Australia was a big place, but probably never appreciated how big. I believe it was the History Channel had a segment on your truck trains (God those are big suckers). They mentioned that Australia is almost the size of the continental U.S. but the population is no more than the entire state of Texas. You must be a lonely bunch down there.  ;D

As opposed to England, which is the size of Maryland and has a population of 45 million.

Not forgetting En Zild, which has the area of Japan and the population of less than one quarter of Madagascar...only 4 million.

Yeah, we're a lonely lot Bob, for sure. Sometimes I'll walk all around my suburb, just looking for someone else to talk to........... (who can speak English, ha ha!)

Those "Road Trains" are big mate, when I worked at the plant hire company I read about one in a dirt moving mag about one they built in the Northern Territory that had 5 "trailers" and the last one was powered by a 1000 HP diesel engine remote controlled from the drivers cab to help push it, and reverse it too! Amazing! ;D

Not forgetting En Zild, which has the area of Japan and the population of less than one quarter of Madagascar...only 4 million.

That's cos half your population is here in Oz Mark, on the frikkin dole, ha ha! ;D

As opposed to England, which is the size of Maryland and has a population of 45 million.

Well why not move half the population to NZ Steve, it's a beautiful place and as long as the Maori's don't eat you, you'll love it! (plus all the Kiwi's have come over here, so there's plenty of room, ha ha!) ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

NZ does seem to be the spot of choice at the moment - must be a hangover from LOTR.

That's true mate, and the cast was so big that the unemployment rate dropped to almost nothing, and migration to Oz actually slowed down for a year or two, Geez, I wish Peter Jackson would make another episode soon, ha ha! ;D
