CB836 - Oil line routing
« on: January 25, 2017, 11:10:13 am »
Hi all,
I am busy preparing a cb7550 f2 1978. I have installed a dp836 piston kit, webcam 41, ....
I have also installed a oil cooler.
I have put 4 litres oil in the tank, but when I rev up to 6000rpm, there's not much oil coming back into the tank.
Are the oil lines okay?

Regards,
gp

Your pictures dont even show everything hooked up. The return line does not even have a fitting on it. Post an updated pick with all three lines installed.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

What sort of oil cooler are you running? I'm doing a similar build, and looking for a good cooling setup right now. Thanks.

Tank to oil-pump in sump........filter adapter return feeds to oil-cooler..........then cooler to oil-tank.  What is the line on the right side of the motor for?

The pump feed should not go above the tank to avoid airlock. The pump is not so efficient at pumping air. You should have a free gravity feed to the pump.

Can't see the feed line, but it's probably just hidden in the 2nd picture. The plumbing looks the same as mine, except my cooler lines are above the cooler. I remember it taking awhile to fill the cooler and lines before seeing much flow back into the tank. Might be worth rigging up a pressure gage to make sure the pump is supplying decent pressure. Mine runs at a 70-80psi.
