Kick start engages transmission but not the motor
« on: February 14, 2017, 07:36:34 PM »
Hi guys, I'm having a weird issue with the kick starter, a couple of days ago I installed the kick lever without the retaining bolt on just to test  it out after reinstalling the clutch, the bike started over after 3-4 kicks without much effort, i kick started it a couple of times more and every time it was easier than the last time, I let the bike sit for the night the next day I try to kick start it, but it feels hard, I put my weight on it and instead of kicking over the pedal came loose, tried it with the electric starter and it fired up, today I installed the lever back in but this time I did put the retaining bolt, and if the transmission is in gear, the rear tire will spin when you kick start it, but if it's in neutral the pistons wont move at all but there is some resistance in the kick lever, if I pull the clutch in the kick start gets really floppy.

What can the problem be?

IIRC, the Kickstarter engages the main shaft which is directly turned by the crank by the primary chains. Are you able to put it in gear and move while the engine is running?

Ok, I messed around with the clutch adjustment and the kickstarter now engages the engine, my problem now is that the levers collar slips at times, but I guess that's an easy fix.
