Need to clean out your oil galleries?

Here's a tip. We've all been warned about junk in the supply galleries in the cylinder casting clogging and killing the valvetrain. Before reassembly to make sure they are completely clean, run a .22 rifle bore brush through the gallery. If a brass brush are not available, go to your local hardware store and look for a percolator brush. They use nylon bristles, but still do the job. Don't use a rifle cleaning "barrel mop" as the drilling operation to form the gallery usually leaves the gallery walls rough and will grab lint, which could work loose and cause problems later.

Thank you! I just Vapor Blasted my case halves and wanted to find a way to be sure that I would get ALL of the glass out. Brake cleaner, my rifle brush, compressed air, and more brake cleaner is making everything look great for a first pass. Oh, I forgot patience...need a lot of that too.
