Tip for removing brake shoes
« on: April 12, 2017, 08:45:08 PM »
I was excited that I actually came up with a handy way to remove the rear brake shoes.  In Hondaman's book he says a fan belt spreader would be a good help - but I don't have all those fancy tools.  So I just spread the shoes with the chain adjuster like in the picture below.  Just spread the shoes and lift them off.

Here's my hack tool, I find getting the shoes on is harder than getting them off.

I have just removed a pair. Replace the springs by folding them together, remove old springs and use new plus bend them apart again when needed
