Not sure if they are of equal value but I'd do it as long as value was close.  Suzi stock, yours mostly...Larry

Yeah thats what I thought Stev-o This year had that very unusual magenta color stock I would prolly take it back to. I have had two others and its kinda like a cross between a rd350 and a cb750. The 500 2stroke, is it slower? Who would win in a race?

Yeah, the only thing I don't like about the Suzi is the color.   Go ride it, if it's in good condition that bike will be fast, much faster than a CB500...

At least the mufflers won't be rusty. They might catch on fire though L0L!

Honda's are common and fairly plentiful but not many low mileage running T500's around. As noted paint on it is not stock. When you go see it and hopefully take it for a good test ride look to see if the right side exhaust smokes more then the left. If so then there could be a crank seal issue which may factor into your decision. Think they were rated at 47 hp. Kawasaki was the king of speed and the Suzuki's were made more for the common man and known for a little better low end grunt.

Yep, those old smokers are great bikes, I had a T250 and my mate Pete had a T500, and they were both very quick. The exhaust end baffles might be plugged with old 2 stroke oil, but the pipes won't be rusted out, and if it's missing on one cylinder it's probably a bad coil, I had one on my bike.

If it pumps brown smoke (not blue) then as Eric said, it could be dried out crank seals and is sucking gearbox oil into the engine, but while that's an engine out job, being a two stroke, it's not a really hard one. They're not as fast as a Kawasaki triple, but they go around corners a heck of a lot better, Suzuki's were the best handling of all the Jap bikes of the era. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

So the titan trade fell through. Guy sold it which was fine .  It had a phantom charging problem which Id didnt wanna or have time to sort out....

So , new trade offer- 1982 CX500 TURBO with 9k miles.
Everything runs great supposedly. Decals MIA and left turn signal cracked...just watched one go for $155 on ebay , wow!
Pretty rare bike so parts are insane. I read it is estimated fewer than 2000 exist now. So good horse swapping foljs what say you- never had a turbo but did have a cx and boy where they heavy for little bikes.

If it's going cheap jump on it mate, the turbo made it a better bike but it's still a slow heavy bike, but certainly a collector's item now. Flip it and buy something you'd want to own. Cheers, Terry. ;D

You think the Suzi parts are expensive wait until you try and rebuild a CX turbo. If it hasn't had a triple bi-pass or a maintained cooling system you could be looking at big dollars. The turbo models bring in decent dollars when they are in good shape, at least they used too. I've heard they are fun as hell to ride.

I'd take the Suzi in a heartbeat. Plenty of Hondas around but not many of those old Titans. Interesting it still has a drum on the front.
