specs for older Honda bikes
« on: December 13, 2006, 03:50:14 PM »
Looking at a 1974 CB450 that can possibly had on the cheap. Needs new carb needles and carb adjustments. I haven't seen the bike, so I can't comment on cosmetic issues.

Where can I find specs on this model, as well as others. I am particularly interested to know the weight, power etc.

Thanks!
1978 CB750K8; 1970 CB450

This applies to the Black Bomber, no weight, but some stats..

Engine - air cooled 444cc DOHC vertical twin
Horsepower - 43-45bhp @ 9000rpm
Top Speed - 104mph
Brakes - drum/drum
Frame - tubular steel single cradle
Transmission - 4 speed (later 5 speed)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Check out this site and maybe you'll get some help with any questions on the 450s
cb450dohc.com That should help you. Later on,  Bill :) ;)

          Edit:
When I get the chance, sometime today, I'll dig out what I have for info on the 74' I've got 3
74's, by the way (1-CL450K6 and 2- CB450K7s) You can also find a pretty decent parts manual
on line at crotchrocket.com. In fact, you can find parts listings for lots off japanese bike
there, so check it out. When you get the chance, of course. :)

I'm pretty sure I have a Haynes manual for one of them (CB450/500 twins)
I spent way too much time inside those engines several years ago.
Maybe the cam chain splitting tool. as well
