Position indicator
« on: May 28, 2017, 08:38:22 PM »
Question - what's a "position" indicator?

Working on this generic speedometer and I've come across a light on the gauge that is described as a "position indicator".   ???
What does it look like?  hard to describe - to me it looks like two headlights back to back

What the heck is it?  Rather what the heck is it for?

Position indicator shows what gear you are in. That's what I would think

That sounds reasonable, except that's not what it is - at least on this gauge.
This gauge has a "gear indicator" already.

Ok I will guess again. Shows if fog lights or running lights are on

If it didn't already have a high beam indicator I would assume it was that.  Since it isn't - I'll go with sidestand down or running lights and leave it at that.

In either case it's not something I have on my bike.

For 20 bucks it was an interesting experiment, but I don't think the older Hondas are set up quite like the modern ones.

Is it a neutral indicator lamp?  It is green after all.

What gauge is that?
It cost $20?
Where did you buy it?

It's a headlight indicator. My car has the same Icon for lights. Maybe for European bikes that can turn they're lights off?.

The two lights side x side is a chevy automotive symbol for running lights.
