Decoding suspension problems
« on: June 01, 2017, 05:11:45 PM »
I've been perusing the web and I find that unless you know what you're talking about there isn't a good reference.

The best I can do - as a regular guy, are vague symptoms and "feelings" that something isn't right and that doesn't translate well to the information online.

What's a good place to start for stuff like
"If you're feeling the front end do this - start here"
"If the back end is bouncing around too much - start here"
"If the front end is hopping over bumpy ground - start here"

Part of the other issue here is that often these symptoms are just how the bike is - you ain't going to fix them.  Choppers with huge rake angles just don't ride like sport bikes - or so I guess??

It was either elka or race tech that had user guides for setting up their off road suspension components.  It was sound theory and helped me sort of the can-ams suspension woes (namely, getting bucked off the whoopdedos)

They might have one for motorcycles.
