Eric has it right, in the heart of Amish country Lancaster County, Pa.   


Those were the bikes that were unusual, most of the other thousand or so bikes were either Harleys for the older generation and crotch rockets for the younger.  Yep, there had to have been at least a thousand

MoMo,  surprised you can't tell a Turkey from a Rooster (chicken).  Guess you have been more of a city boy.  But, my uncles and few other relatives were farmers, so I spent time on a farm.  I have had an uncle squirt milk in my face from 12 feet away  from the cow's udder.

There is a nice little yellow bike in that last photo.   Is it continuing to run well?  Any growing love for it, or desire to hang on to it?  Is it growing into a long term keeper?  No, I am not interested in it...

I like that red and white Yamaha, nice looking bike.

Guess I'm the turkey for not knowing..  Yes sir, the Yammie is growing on me -----at least I can handle it without dropping it on the ground.  And..............................it does run fairly well-has pretty  much become my daily go to rider.  I plan to put the Concours on Evilbay soon. Maybe Tequila Sunrise too.  I've been doing quite well with eBay sales as of late, mostly Snap On tools that were bought at auction relatively cheap.  Hope all is well...Larry

Should offer the Concours up here...maybe I should ask Will if he wants a newer on...send me specs on yr & mileage...
It is more than just getting used to it?  I had to get used to CX as was not accustomed to a top heavy bike...they bite you in butt at low low speed and moving them around...
bashed my shin into a foot peg walking the bike from parking lot to my apartment patio to pull wheels for new tires after I bought it.  The burst vein where I hit it is still there, like a varcoise vein.   A scar if you will...

David,   1994 Concours with a shade over 5200 miles.  Yes, 5,200 not 52,000.   Like new other than scratch on saddle bag.  New Michelin Pilot less than a thousand miles ago, new battery, owner and service manuals, two original keys.



I just don't feel comfortable on it, a shade awkward and slower speeds and as my feet don't hit the ground it needs to go before I get hurt....Larry

 I am just wrapping up this 1979 GS1100e Mike. Probably make for a good Cooley conversion. Had it for a couple of years but am finally getting to it.  Started working on it last Friday and carb and manifold o-rings and other goodies arrived yesterday.Should be putting the carbs back on today and firing it up !  17,500 miles on it. Looking forward to getting it out for some more miles.

That bike is another Suzuki T500 Steve and its pretty rough with a title. Its a project that I think I am going to take a pass on and may get rid of. After doing the other nice 2200 mile T500 I bought this spring I found that parts are kind of a hassle and can get pricey and don't want to invest the time or money.
   Funny story if you like terrible pain and misery about that high compression big bore green 900 Z1a. On Monday Sean and my buddy were at the shop and we were starting some bikes. Let Sean ride my silver 900 Z1B for the first time as he had never been on one,He liked ! Sooo my friend popped an older battery into GREENIE. It had not been started in a couple of years. Engine rolls over a little but battery gets low. So I walk in from the right side of the bike to give it a kick. Its an awkward position with my right foot on that side and I drop the kickstart about a 1/4 to 1/3 to preload it for a good kick and while doing that the engine fired and tried to break my ankle. First time since the 80's I have been bit by a kickstart. Was on crutches Tuesday but am able to hobble around now. Still got my GS1000 fired today off a slave tank so at least still getting some stuff done but very painfully. Sean started Greenie with one kick after my disaster.  Here is a pic of my right ankle

Ouch, you got bit all right!    It's kinda like a horse that throws ya cuz he doesnt want to get ridden.

Let me know about that T500 if you decide to sell. If It's not too rough, I may be interested.  I will have one of those one day.

Looks painful Eric.  I've never had a bike kick back but.................I never dropped a bike until a couple weeks ago.  Heal quickly...Larry

 Thanks guys. The pic doesn't really do it justice,for some reason my calf is swelled also. Friend of mine laughed today when he saw me in my shorts.Hopefully nothing broken. Have to go in early Friday for a procedure for my Kidney stone and did not feel like hitting the hospital twice in one week    Maybe they will give me a twofer when I get my gut x-rayed - throw in an ankle for free  Watch those mad Cows, they can bite

Keep that leg elevated and use some ice to get the swelling down...ibuprofen  or naproxen for inflammation and pain helps...

Might have a fracture with that much swelling and severe pain.  Hope not...  you would think they would give you a discount if you can talk them into doing a few views, talk to your doctor, he can give you an xray order.

It's a G so it's a shaft drive.  I have an 81 1100G in garage now getting worked over.
