Good deal on a higher-priced bike?
« on: August 18, 2017, 11:12:26 AM »
Thinking about getting a CB750, would be my second classic, my first being a Yammie XT500. This one looks impeccably well maintained, the current owner let me know a collector owned it before him. Price is a bit steep, and the tank color and seat are definitely not original, but other than that, it looks pretty good. What do you guys think? Not looking for a restore job, just doing maintenance would be ideal. Seller says it has 30k miles currently.

Thanks guys!

Looks really clean. Few non stock things but they look great also. Best thing is that "NEGOTIABLE". Tell him you want to offer $2000 but you realize it's too low so $2500 is all you can do.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

looks pretty good, reasonably priced for your area IF it runs and rides as good as it looks.  30k miles is not an issue for this one.  If it was really owned by a collector, I can see why he sold it.  K7/8's can barely be considered collectable, especially with non-original paint and parts.
If it works good, it looks good...

Howdy!

Appears to be a decent example, mostly stock other than seat, bars, and color.
The exhaust looks pretty nice, almost too nice. I wonder if it's been replaced.
The later 750's tend to go for a bit less than earlier bikes  but over all that's not a crazy price for Texas, imho, all things considered.
If it's what you're looking for make him an offer.

The K0-K6 cost much more here than later CB750 SOHC K7 and CB750 F bikes that cost around half of a K1-K6, maybe less.
K0 cost most.

The market here in Texas is pretty warm, much like the weather.  :P
Any decent 750 is going to cost around the 2K+ range.
The earlier bikes can go for more but condition/originality is everything.
