i hate my carbs

ok guys, i have a 81 cb 650 custom. I have bought a haynes manual and read iut like crazy. i really really dont wanna take the carbs off. what is a quick fix for my high rev hesitation. I am pretty sure it is running rich

There aint no quick fix just hours of carb work!
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

Nope, and these old carbs are soo picky you will be a PRO at getting them on/off in no time. Its not too hard.

If I remember right, you have a situation where your carbs were set up to run without an air filter(bad idea) and now it runs rich because you put a filter in?  Have you played with the mixture screws at all?  Could you describe what the bike does durring high rev hesitaton....no power, throttle is flat, backfiring, poping at the carbs....that kinda thing.  A good way to check your fuel mixture would be to warm it up, take it for a spin at cruising speed, then hit the throttle so it hesitates as you mentioned, then shut her down and pull a plug or two.  Compare them to this..
