New owner of a SOHC Honda CB750 K1
« on: October 31, 2017, 06:24:12 PM »
Hi All,
Name is Charlie, and this is my first SOHC , a 1971 Honda CB750 K1. Always wanted one, yet never had one stuck in front of me like this one, $600 and it's mine lol.
I have owned a lot of motorcycles, still have a stable full, and have owned a 1974 SL450 scrambler that I won at Mid-Ohio back in 2012, a 1984 Honda V65 Sabre (fast), currently, a 1985 CH250 Elite, I currently race a 1989 VTR250 Interceptor, and have several Yamaha's, including a 1975 RD350 (race bike) a 1981 XV920RH that I bought new in the crate, and a 2006 Kawasaki Concours for my retirement bike.  I also have a therapy bike 1996 Royal Enfield 500 Bullet, kickstart only. Looking forward to perusing the forum, as I work on this SOHC Honda!!

Howdy! Welcome!
Nice RD! I like the livery.  :)
$600 for a K1 is a pretty good deal.

Hello from NE MN,

Hi MD, I used to live in Becker, MN back in 1969/70, nice to meet you.

Hi CycleRanger,
I thought it was a pretty good deal also. I watched this bike for almost a year, and nobody ponied up any cash for it! It was sitting outside, and I couldn't watch it rust away lol... so, I ante'd up for it. I just changed the plugs tonight, and every one of them was finger tight, and that's not good.
Thanks for the compliment on the RD350, it's a good handling machine!
I guess I had better post some pics of the 1971 CB750 K1 now... lol.

Interesting mix-master K1 you have there. Certainly looks like more than $600 worth.  :)

Great looking bike!   Mid-Ohio is a great track, been there with my brother [amateur SCCA racer]

Yes, your K1 appears to be a "Bitsa", bits from different years.
The seat may not ever be CB750?   Not a problem unless you plan a 100 point restore...
