1977 CB750 PD carb questions
« on: November 03, 2017, 06:59:49 PM »
Ok so i have been thinking about trying some PD carbs on my hopped up 836cc 74 750K. the Linked round tops (72-76) style carbs are working ok but thought id like to try some accelerator pump carbs. So I finally found a good deal on an ok set of PD 41A's from a 1977 750K Just have a few questions id try here before digging into rebuilding the carbs.

1. Right side petcock (74 750K) and right side PD idle adjuster. they look like they may interfere with each other or the idle adjuster will be so obstructed it cant be adjusted. Curious if anyone has done this combo and can elaborate on fitment.. I may just have to try them...

2. Carb boots and Air box? Will the 74' carb boots and air box work and fit properly with these?

3. How well do these carbs jet? they are the 77 PD's with adjustable needles :) , but still a little concerned. The engine is a little hopped up; 836cc kit, light port job, de-shrouded chambers, mild cam and Hindle exhaust. Just don't wanna spend the time and money if the carbs wont up-jet enough for the engine mods.

4. Any suggestions on good carb kits for these? Also the Accelerator pump is gonna need a rebuilt kit.

Thanks, Chris
