old times and posters
« on: January 01, 2007, 10:58:19 PM »
G'day folks, and lots of happy sohc riding days in 07 to you all.
I probably should post this in the 'wanted' section, but it doesn't really fit a category there, so I'll try here.
Back when I was a long haired rebellious teenager in the 70s I had a poster on my bedroom wall of a CB750 - it was gold, only cos I couldn't get a red one to match what I had parked in my long suffering dad's shed. This poster has long since vanished, probably chucked out in one of his moves - I don't remember taking it with me when I left home (well, kicked out) all those years ago.
Anyway, to get to the point - I'm looking to get my hands on a poster(s) of a CB750 to once again adorn my walls - this time in my own newly completed garage. I've checked ebay, and a couple of shops, but nothing nears what I am looking for - plenty of general Honda posters, but nothing specific for 750s. I'm talking decent sized stuff - say 3x2 feet, or 1x.8 metres or thereabouts, and not just magazine spreads.
So, does anybody know where I might be able to source something like this? New or old, doesn't matter as long as it is in good condition.
I am also interested in the same for the 400/4.
All help gratefully received.  ;D
Cheers
Peter.

I don't have any posters but I did get a cool clock with a cb350f.

Check ebay I see 750 clocks from time to time.

Would go well with a poster....and it helps with "in a minute honey"  :D ;D

Hi Peter.

Your timing is very good. I trawl around ebay on a weekly basis year in and year out and this is the biggest and best I have seen.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-DREAM-CB750-FOUR-CB-KO-SEEVERT-PRINT-POSTER-1969_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34237QQihZ007QQitemZ170064695345QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I was thinking of bidding, but nah, I've got the real thing sitting there so why bother     ;D

Of course this is a K0 and your poster was probably of a K1 or later. I'm pretty sure that this is probably as good as it gets after 30 odd years. I was thinking of buying old Playboy magazines from about 1968-1976 and trawling through them for advertisements of CB750's. Man, now I'm really showing my age, trawling for advertisements, not titties and airbrushed minges..... :P

kghost - yeh thanks mate. I've seen those clocks and I think would make a good b'day present later on. Ta.

tc - you're right mate - was a K1 I think from the fading memory (although I had a K2 then and same now). That one you linked me to is sweet but a little smaller than I was hoping, but then again beggars can't be choosers. Will keep an eye on it. And you might convince me of your reasons for buying old Playboy mags, but I doubt your mrs will fall for it!!  ::)

Thanks guys...the search continues.....

You could alsways find the pic of your dreams in a magazine and take it to your friendly local reproduction shop and have them enlarge it for you. I have has success with getting super-sized images made (and laminated) to hang on the wall.

Thanks for the interest guys - 6pk has a great selection on the link he provided.
The trouble with getting my own images reproduced is finding someone local able to do it at a price that is still reasonable, but I'll give it a try and see where it leads.
Cheers.
