Ekpent,  I'm sorry but I have to disagree with your gauge color claims.

The 76 models of both the CB550 and the 750 had light color green faces.

This was pointed out to me by a long time Honda dealership salesman years ago when he spotted 76 Cb750 gauges on my 74 Cb550.  Further, the Honda Motorcycle Identification Guide notes the bright green gauge faces on page 193.

From what I have witnessed 1976 was the only year Honda used light green faces in the instruments.

FYI : The HMIG also says the 76 750F was offered in Sulfur Yellow and Candy Antares Red.  The 75 model was offered in Sunrise flake Orange, and Candy Sapphire Blue.

Cheers,
The second or bottom picture I posted Lloyd with 4848 miles is a 1976 cb750f with the lighter green which I think correlates to what your saying ?? The top picture is a 1975 cb750f with darker gauge faces.
The yellow 750F I posted way up the page also has the lighter green faces.

The top picture of your original 75 gauges show the wrong color. They should be dark green. Those are blue, which were a 1977 issue...

I see you edited your post.  Thanks.

Cheers,
My last edit actually was at 8:47,2 minutes after my original post of 8:45 to correct a mispelling and before your post at 10:49. No big deal though as I do believe we have an agreement,at least on the color of a 1976 speedo. jlh3rd can have a friendly disagreement on the 75 pics I guess, not seeing the blue.

I'd go with the US parts. Does David Silver have anything that would be of use? The flat mounts might flutter the headlight.

jimmbo62 sorry for the derailment of your thread, but I had to find out if my 1976 750F has the correct gauges.

Ekpent was nice enough to post both gauges. So here's the deal my 750F came with a speedo that goes to 140 plus just like in Ekpent's photo, the tach however has a Redline of 9300 rpm's. I am used to the K model tachs which are lower. So for all of you experts Do I have the wrong tach on my 750F? Is it really from a CB550?

CB750   1974 - Gone
CB750F 1976 - Gone :(
CB550   1978 - Gone & now back

That’s not a correct tach for a 76 750.... it’s not a tach for a 750....
Seems to be a weird red line area......and the tick marks are all even....what color is the faceplate......here is a 77 tach for a 550... blue...I’ve never seen a stock tach from Honda with that kind of red line markings.....has that faceplate been changed?...or not a U.S. import...and,that’s not any stock 550 tach I’ve ever seen either

I'm finding parts both at David Silver Spares an cmsnl.com. checkout cmsnl. They have schematics for every model produced and for each country it was produced for. I've purchased the US parts for everything discussed in this thread. The euro parts are very hard to find. The mounts in my pictures don't flutter. I have the correct ones ready for installation but decided on this thread to get others' opinions as I have no bikes to compare mine with over here in Norway.
