77/78 Throttle Cables........who's are the best?
« on: January 29, 2018, 09:47:43 pm »
Mable is going back to stock and I need new throttle cables.  The ones that were on it were junk and the ones that are on it now are way to long.  I've tried to find OEM's but can't...what are the next best ones?

There are some individual NOS A and B cables for your bike on eBay, but there are different lengths also. I would contact them and see if you can find both the same length.
I see you are an IHC Scout man... I am an IHC fella from way back. Bought my dad's 68 IHC Travelall 1100C series Apache Gold color in 1975, and traded it in on a 1978 IHC Scout Terra Rally pickup Terra Cotta red with white Rallye stripes, 11x15 GroundHawgs, close ratio 4 speed, and white Suntanner convertible top for it. It drove like a Corvette...and ATE Jeeps for lunch, 345CI Dual exhaust. Owned numerous Scout II's also, and one other Terra for parts. The 78 Terra Rally was a BEAST, as well as the AWD 68 Travelall. Sold my last 78 IHC Scout II to a young man, it had the close ratio 4 speed like my original Terra Rallye did. He was going to restore it, gave him a bunch of parts too.

Well, MotionPro makes great cables for about $15 each but are not really OEM. I just ordered a set and they are really nice. I guess it just gets down to how OEM you want to be.
