Just saw (and deleted) a new float pin remover tool day or so ago.

Good idea on the heat shield,  I have a couple pins stuck in my Katana that will need heat to remove...Larry

Heat,carb cleaner and a spring loaded centre punch, make sure to brace the float tower when using the punch as the tower will snap easily.
