1976 cb750f and Tarozzi rear set question
« on: March 25, 2018, 06:49:13 PM »
my 76 f SS is nearing completion , i  just installed the Tarozzi rear sets and the left side is all good . The right side peg sticks out an additional  2 " compared to the left side! The rear disc brake bracket that the rear set mounts to appears to be the reason . I cannot see riding this way and there appears no other way to mount this to offset it . Does anyone have this setup or any advice . They were not cheap and i like their quality but i can't imagine they designed them that way and did not mention it in the specs . purchased from fast from the past. Thanks in advance!!

I will get take some pics , yeah, i originally thought the same thing but this is the only way that you can possibly mount them. To make matters worst the lever is angled outboard . i'm not too not happy about this , i just wanted a bolt up application. I may have to order a straight lever just to feel comfortable , i see people cannot use the kick start also  .   this is the part -http://www.fastfromthepast.com/03-0019

CognitoMoto sells a nice bracket setup to use with universal Tarozzi's and a GSXR master cylinder and res. and their site has a lot of application facts  ( unlike fast from the past ; who also has a 20 % return charge and no free shipping -- $310 + shipping for asymmetrical rear sets )

Shame on me for not doing a bit more research

turkey4me-   Thanks 4 the reply and pics . Is your bike a 76 ?  That is exactly the mounting that mine now looks like now. By mounting the rear set to that aluminum bracket you are moving everything outboard . Have you measured the distance from a down tube out to the outer edge of the left rear set peg ( which has no aluminum bracket ) and compared it to the distance from the down tube to the outer edge of the right peg ?  Do you notice anything odd about riding position initially or have you just gotten use to it?

Thanks again ! , looking fwd. to your reply

Here are a few shots of the rear sets.    Everything is temporarily bolted up but in its final position.

update- just spoke to FFTP and they said that is the way it is designed ( probably would of been nice to note that in the item description ) . He is exchanging the angled right lever for a straight one @ no charge , good customer service.  )

* hopefully my experience with the 76 SS Tarozzi rear sets can help out a fellow rider in the future .
