Topic: Gas tank stripes

Hoping someone can help me out here.
Before sending the bodywork out to be painted on my '77 400f I took lots of photos and made careful measurements of the positioning of the stripes and 'Honda' decals on the tank.Of all the things to erase I somehow erased those!!!!
I've found measurements for the early tanks but not the later ones with the stripes.
Can anybody help??

On my 76 CB750F, I find reproduction decals to match the factory ones. They look amazing. You can get them on eBay. A little pricey but worth it.

It's a '77 as I said in my post.Parakeet Yellow.
I found the ones for the earlier tank but can't find anything on the later tank

I have placed decals without any guidelines on body work before and that is probably what you will need to do here. There are lots of pictures of the tanks with the stripes on the internet to help you position them. The picture above from the poster showing the Honda tank logo position and the side cover positions will work, as I used that info for my recent 76 CB 400F restoration on the decals.
Try no to over think it as long as both longer side stripes on the tank are equal and look correct the tank police won't bother you.

Thanks,I was thinking that myself.There is a guy in town that does striping and wraps etc on most anything and he told me that armed with enough photos he could do a decent job.Time will tell
