gas leaking from carb T junction
« on: May 01, 2018, 05:51:34 AM »
hi all

i had to work on my carbs lately and i had to separate carb 4 and 3. Since then, i have a strong leak from the T junction between those 2 carbs. I took off my carbs 3 times since the leak to figure out where it is coming from first then to check the o rings. These seem to be still in a good shape. What else can i do to stop this leak? It is even more leaking when i ride the bike in the streets (dont want to catch fire etc..)

it is a 750 with 657b carbs

replace the o-rings.  some may disagree but i took mine down to the auto parts store and found some that fit.  haven't leaked since.

dont put jb weld on that junction or you will never be able to get it apart, I highly do not recommend doing that,

New o rings are the correct fix. Goop will just make a worse mess. 2x8mm or as close as you can get.

2x8 work well for me also. Bought a whole bag  on E-bay for a few bucks. Somebody will curse you someday using JB Weld in that spot  ;)
