I've just finished the 2 hour doc on Netflix.
I had no idea that Korea had such severe winters, surrounded by the Pacific and all.
Some of the B&Ws of the carnage looked like they could've been shot in Stalingrad.

Korea was a hell of a war... 98% of the soldiers that returned, never talked about what went on, and those that did, told of a horror that couldn't be absorbed by the human mind. If you ask a Korean War vet about it (you can still find a few alive) they probably won't talk much about it...
The cold was really bad, but it stopped the piles of bodies from decomposing, and they stacked up like cord wood. I can't imagine what those vets went through.

Hello Bill,
Kapyong was only referenced in passing.

The reason I asked was because we had a couple of "Pat's" in our squadron that had been through Korea.

IMHO the DC memorial for Korean war is the most impressive.

Yeah, it was a brutal war to stop communism from expanding.  My country participated on the red side.

My dad's youngest brother was a POW in Korea.  Made it back, but died at an early age. RIP Uncle Leslie.
