Another lucky customer getting APE Pro Street Billet rods installed on his lightened and race balanced crankshaft.

This crankshaft assembly is going into the latest project by famed custom bike builder Duane Ballard. His last Honda chopper was featured on the cover of Street Choller magazine twice.   This is the second project that APE has been involved in with Ballard.

Just order a set and you’ll find more to give them something to do.  I started with APE crank with Carillos.
Had then to give them some to do, so I ordered 1000cc kit from Dynoman to fit the head I use. While in process I found it will be easier with a billet block than bore my cylinder here and make sure  that it will not weep oil.  I mailed Buzz to ship the pistons to Mike. I calculated the total, going billet did not raise the price that much. Billet block does not weep a single drop, under nor over nor between the cylinders. The sleeves found a new happy owner here.

The breather system need to be improved since there are more that pump inside.
Work fine on a street bike.

Or check the video when I had my bike on the dyno with frequent 9000-10.000 revs. I waited for the stock rods to jump thru the case. I knew that this is the way I often rode it


That convinced me to upgrade crank and rods.

LOL. I don’t see myself adding a 750 to the stable. Having a hard enough time getting the boys to finish up their current bikes. But if I did ever build a 750, this setup would be rotating beneath a Mike R block for sure!

A crank sent to APE, lightened and balanced made my engine to idle nicer too. Not only quicker throttle response. 
An old crank need to get its journals polished and new bearings anyway.
