I haven't watched a lot of project forms videos. I am addicted to torque test channel on YouTube though.

ProjectFarm uses a scientific method approach that is sound in his testing methodology. So, the results tend to be quantifiable and reasonable on many things he tests. So, the results are not cherry picked.

That is what I enjoy about TTC so much is it's data driven results and well charted!

Got the new box welded onto the swingarm today. It doesn't look as good as the first on where it offset to one side. had a mishap and drilled the wrong side not paying fill attention. Kiddos are a blessing more often but sometimes they will have you outta focus while working. I just welded some "rounds" over the holes.

Need to strip the old paint and repaint the swingarm again.

That brings me to this question. I had a homemade spacer (drilled out washer) in one side of the swingarm. What's the actual Honda part i need on that mounting?
At this point I think I'd like to just have the right stuff in there.

It looks like this is the stock part https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/52144-283-010?ref=93a6956cfd9e1eea456bc585af23d04b3fd28443
But a similar item from any honda with a 14mm swingarm pivot should do the trick.

Thank you. I could get a parts fiche to load on my phone and be able to zoom on the pic to see what I needed.

I got some coming in from Ebay along with a few other items for this bike. At this point with so many other changes I'm holding out on in life I'm ready to get this ride done. My lift cleaned and ready to move as soon as I close on this house.

Will do.

On a stand still with the bike waiting for parts to come in. I'd bounced around so much and not realized how close I've been for a while to riding this bike.

I still need to order coils. Prob going to go with some early Sportster coils and yellow wires. Also need to order a IGN switch.

Currently waiting on a spacer kit for the front wheel, taillight, dust caps to get rid of the washers in my swingarm.

Of course a chain as well. I'll order it this weekend. I would like to get some side covers but that's not in the budget ATM. Unfortunately my 1 ton truck broke my budget recently with the help of a hired mechanic. That's neither here nor there. Just a sore spot in a recent stressed/angry dealings.

Got the dust caps (no more drilled out washers) spacers for the front wheel and rear shoes. Other than waiting on the chain to come it is should be ready to be a "safe" roller now.
Found some Honda Motor pliers on the eBay while ordering parts. I had to have them.
Really liked the taillight for the style I'm going for. The last things I need to order is coils, wires, and a IGN switch.

Unfortunately the read of the lift where I need to work is piled up with stuff for a job I'm doing for a buddy. Repairing a truck frame to make the winter of plowing.as soon as that's done the cash there will order my last parts and a set of side covers.

I'm pretty excited to know I'm right in the home stretch.

Don't have a picture handy but got a great deal on a set of yellow Accel sbc wires 15 shipped!
To coils with wires and caps. A Harley Barrell key style ign and a different IGN bracket. Just have to get done with this truck in the driveway first now. It's been a hassle of sickness and weather getting me behind on it. This week it got cold but I'm going to be working on it starting tomorrow.

So I posted the the things that piss you off thread about losing my electric box cover plate...
Made another then found the original one... That pissed me off lol

Today I installed the swingarm with the battery box welded to it.
Ran the wires to where they go for most of them.
Made a lic place bracket.
Also realized I didn't have a brake light switch. I remember now giving to my buddy for his CB750 Chopper.

So I'm going to order one of those and a water proof toggle switch for my headlights tonight.

Put together the antipode after these years. Looks like I need to do my research again to find out where to get foam for it. Or what to do to condition these foam again. I remember and still had the box from Mr.Gabor where I got the stacks for the antipod.

I'll have to move my IGN switch as well it won't work with the antipod.

The real aggravating this today is this motor and trans where together last time on another bike and ran great.....
It would hit but that's the best I could get and that wasn't often. I'm going to order a throttle cable so I'm not holding a screwdriver on the throttle linkage and put frest plugs in it and try again tomorrow.

It's set up as kick only so after a good sweat I decided its better to come in the house and play my game before I get mad.
Tomorrow I think I'll replace the rear brake shoes and mount the rear wheel. Hopefully I haven't lost my rear brake linkage🫣🫣🫣

Drained the gas I put in it thinking it was old. It was. Last time I kicked for 20 min to no real avail. Put a gallon of fresh 87 in it and it fired up on the 3rd kick.

Went looking for my forward co trolls and realized my boy threw them away more than likely. The unopened box was sitting where I pile old boxes and I had him clean that area of the shop about a mo the ago.....

I didn't talk to him about it. I was pretty aggravated. So I ordered them about 50 mucks more than last time I did. Also order throttle and clutch cables. The old stick length ones I think hit the trash pile and the 8+ ones I'm pretty sure I gave away about a year ago.

My light switch came in from Ebay yesterday. So I went to fit it...
Didn't clamp on the bars and the wiring was different than the eBay sale add said.
So after some filing and a quick continuity test the head lights are working as a bright and a dim. I also realized the challenge of my battery box design even scooted back I can open the access panel now but it is quite difficult to change the fuses on the back side of the block.

I did that in the morning. Went inside for a while and came back out when the shop was warm and one kicked the bike. Went to start it later and kicked kicked and kicked some more.

I think I'll probably just go through the carbs and reset the static timing again after I move the IGN switch.

New rear brake shoes EMGO brand didn't fit quite right. The casting was about 3mm to thick for the hubs hardware. About a mill of it was paint though. After some gentle hand filing those were fitted.

Had to go get my parts frame as I couldn't remember where I placed my brake pivot and spring......

I'm definitely learning lessons for the next long term project I do.

The brake light switch also came in. It is wired in but waiting on the forward co trolls to hook up the spring to see how I will modify the pedals for the linkage.

Also had to open up the hole just a tad. But only where it slides on the "hub pivot point" seemed like excessive coating. Next time I'm ordering better brand stuff.

New on top old on bottom.

Finally took possession of the house we bought. So needless to say the bikes have been on the back burner to brush clearing and interior projects. Between that and Xmas no funding to allocate to the bike and it seems time is in just as short of a supply.

Although I'm sure I'll have this on the road before my tentative move date (may).
It definitely adds the feeling of pressure to things. Not sure how long i wont be working on things when the shop and home transfer over.

I had the same issue when we moved to the country, full time. Huge lists, build this, knock down that….. It was almost a year before I finished my shop and got back to any machine projects. It was worth it!

Man I really hope it's not a year for me.
Although I can see that being a very realistic timeline. Currently my daily sporty is down and the CB is on the lift so I really need to get those 2 done before I move.

It took me a year to get the shop up and running when we moved into this house. I went from a 864sqft shop to a 1400sqft shop. The new shop was stuffed full after I was done. After building a utility room, replacing the 200 amp service panel, building shelving, installing benches, countertops and putting everything away a year had passed.

I hear you! But like Kelly, I decided I wanted the shop done right. Instead of rushing it, I just made it my number one project and enjoyed it.
