Hello everybody im a new member . I own a 1981 cb650c .i did customized this bike. Installed dynojet 3 kit with pods and 4 to 1 exhaust setup . Installed a drag bar with aftermarket speedo and tach. Raisedthe handle bar 1 inch to clear the tank. Went hardtail. Etc.. I cant find the cause of the noise . Just wanted to know if anybody else had a similar problem. Bike is not done yet so i d9nt mind getting my hand dirty. All i hear is kinda scratcy clunking over bumbs.
Thanks in advance

Do you still have the center stand on it? If you do then check the rubber stopper and make sure the chain isn't grinding on it.

If you lowered it with those struts  it could be the chain again grinding on the swing arm. Check the chain adjustment,  when you back off the throttle the chain is loose on the top. Couple that with rhe bumps and it could be flapping enough to scrape on something.

Welcome aboard and I'm out of ideas.

Thank you for your response i adjusted the chain. Slack is no more than 15mm. I took the center stand out too. Maybe i should lift the rear wheel of the ground and put it in gear and check everything . Another question how can shorten the side stand without cutting and welding?

I hope you checked chain clearance before you decided on strut length.
