Turn Signal Buzzer
« on: July 06, 2018, 07:57:20 PM »
Putting together a 1975 Honda CB750F.  I'm not sure where the Turn Signal Buzzer mounts.  Somewhere on the left side beneath the Headlight.  I need to know more mounting details or even a picture.  Thanks.

There is a welded tang on the headlight mounting bracket with a square hole it mounts to unless somebody has removed it.  You can see it in the parts fiche.

But half the fun of using the turn signals is the dying crackly sound my buzzer makes!

I wondered what that square hole was for!  But I'm still wondering why you'd want a buzzer in the first place... ;D

Its easy to forget the turn signal which can cause an accident. I have been close many times when car drivers think I'll turn in coming corner and they cross the road just in front of me. Checking the turn signal take focus from the traffic.

I had to buy a buzzer, expensive. I scrapped mine on the K6 many years ago. My CB750 K2 project will get it, it will be a close to stock version.

I like/hate it.

BTW - it is easy to cancel the noise by just moving the switch over slightly, the blinker will still function with no buzzing.

Thanks everyone for the photos and descriptions.  It looks as though my buzzer has a missing tab that fits in the bracket hole.  I'll tape it on for now and shop for a replacement buzzer.

Yeah you have to hold your finger on it to stop the buzzer, who the heck wants to be bothered faffing about doing that.  You either love the buzzer and leave it connected, or you don’t like it, do not have a major problem remembering to cancel the indicators and have already pulled the wires off from day one like I did.   Over here in the UK we have a junction or roundabout every 10 ft it would be going all the B****y time if not disconnected.

My K6 did not have that button and I did remove the buzzer as first modification. Maybe others helped me to decide that.
It will be fun to get it buzzing on the ongoing bike build.  :D
I'm sure my finger will find the button without looking at it when needed. I'm not afraid to ride a buzzing bike. No shame at all ;D

may aswell fit a different tone buzzer that activates when the indicators are off so you don't forget to flick them on?our trucks sound the horn if you open the doors with the park brake off,so if you have a passenger and you let them out the horn blasts even if you hold the foot brakes on.

Looking at the headlight from the front the square hole for mounting the buzzer is on the headlight bracket on left side towards the middle rite behind the headlight bucket.

There was some speculation in prior postings that the turn buzzer, was not only a reminder for the driver, but a pedestrian warning you are making a turn.  Ostensibly, so they wouldn't step out in front of you.  Might work in some cities.

I put mine on a shelf where the spiders live that I don’t visit much. Not a big deal shutting off a blinker to me.
I like poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking at dead things with a stick.
