I've just bought a Moto Guzzi Griso and the 400/4 is coming along nicely BUT i need money quickly and the garage is getting too full. The CB750 is magnificent but it does need the primary-chains replacing. Bummer! Can I wait until mid-summer to install the new chains or should I let it go now and allow someone else to benefit from the incredible condition of this bike?

Money talks I guess. Depends on what I'm offered.

I’d be inclined to replace the drive chains and then sell it, double the value for a weekend’s work and a few quid outlay.

NICE 750! Looks exactly like mine, except mine is a US spec with the stupidly huge winkers.

It looks too nice to be needing primary chains. How many miles on it?

Seems a shame to sell what looks like a unique bike, I have not seen another F1 in that good condition, but once you open that motor it could turn into a money pit, though I doubt it.
But I must admit I do get the urge to give up this restoration lark, sell it all and buy something modern that all I need to do is throw a leg over and press a button.
But it's your call.

I've riden A GRISO. It's a hell of a machine... as long as you can get used to the feel of the torque of that Horizontal V-Twin (Remember, there's pushrods in there...)

I say wait to replace the primary first, then sell (If you have to... I know the feeling... there might be a "For Sale" sign in the future for my '76 750F once I get it all done)
#1 - Increased sale value
#2 - Decreased chance that the next guy to buy it will come back to you saying, "Hey, Buddy. This bbike ain't runnin' right..."
#3 - One last project to work on with her.

The bike is EVERY bit as good as it looks in the pix. She's a beaut and even has that original rear fender that a lot of the guys in the 70's used to remove cos they thought it wasn't very trendy.

The bike has done 30,000 miles. I've got a few NOS bits to go with it and I just installed brand-new electronic ignition and PetCock which I bought from CMSNL in Holland. The oil-pan is removed (I was taking the tensioner-measurement as advised in the manual) but I have a NOS gasket for it. I would LOVE to fit new primaries but I have ZERO space in the garage right now (4 bikes in there) and I need cash quickly.

The Griso by the way is brilliant and its fitted with a very LOUD Mistral exhaust that makes me smile everytime I open her up. In fact, it makes me laugh when I decelerate cos it burps, farts and backfires :-)

I had a good look at the CB750 last night in the garage and I'm now thinking maybe I should keep it and sell the 400/4 instead, cos they are a world apart in terms of condition. With the 400/4 gone, I would have room to do the primaries on the 750. Hmmm
