« on: September 26, 2018, 02:58:05 PM »
Ok so this wasnt seized at the pedal but I took it apart and dont know what to do here. Seems something needs extracted. Also trying to find a rebuild kit that isnt a hundred bux....any thoughts? If I have to graft a gsxr master in to place I could ...but would like to retain Stock if not to exspense would be cool. its not a show bike just an e eryday rider.. Thats the plan.

On the rear, the part that the piston contacts in the bore is seized.

I was able to get the piston out on my rear master cylinder by hooking it to the front master cylinder and pumping it out. If I get time I will try and find a video I saw on how to get it apart.

I got mine apart with grease gun  but am sure it needs a kit.
So not ready to go. If your bore is buggered, then you would need mine.
So you need the  part for front with 2 mount holes, aluminum one will work, some had steel...yeccchhh..

Try SiriusConInc.com. They also have a rear caliper rebuild kit with both pistons etc for under $100. Good quality.

Thanks for the leads fellas.
Yes the new old stock one looks like itd do the trick but too nice. Someone else needs that for a resto. So I am gonna cook it up in a pot buzz buzz in the ultrasonic and try and pump it out with my front master. If the bore looks good then I might sit on it . For this bike imparticular I might end up going with the gsxr option. Actually just bought one for 10 bux and I think tears ago I already did this with great results.
May have been a tad bit touching if memory serves...like I could look it up pretty easy but I believe that bike had a set of raask rearsets which looked hideously strange for an f model.

So 754- happen to have an f front caliper mount.
I seem to be missing some pieces...anybody know if a k setup will work? It is the single front disk f. Brake

Use a grease gun to pump the piston out of the MC; it always works. You may be able to clean the piston assembly and reuse it.
The upper part of the caliper mount is common to K3 through K8 750s, as well as 400, 500, and 550s. Like Frank said, some are made out of aluminum, and some were made from steel. I may have a steel one gathering dust..

Think member bankerdanny aka Danny pumped out his rear master piston on an F recently with a grease gun also.

As far as I know the front brake on the 75-76 F is the same as on the K and the 75-78 750K caliper and bracket should fit.

I did use the grease gun trick on my rear master and it worked fine. I didn't have good luck with the rebuild though. The piston in my kit didn't fit properly. I ended up replacing the rear with an inexpensive generic master with a remote reservoir which seems to be working just fine.

Yes, I have a steel version of that part; PM me a mailing address, so I can get a quote on what it would cost for shipping.

PS Before buying a new MC, or a rebuild kit, take your existing MC apart, cleaning it and reassembling it using the original parts. A lot of the time, a good cleaning is all that is needed. ;)
