Might be a bit of rant but:
After college I wanted a project vehicle, so I pulled a 1973 CB500 out of a field. The bike had not been on the road for around 20 years at that point. I got it running, but realized that it would be a very expensive project in many ways.
I took a break to build a 1977 Datsun 280z because I thought that would be a quicker project. (it still took a year and a half)
While working on the Datsun, I found a 1976 CB550, which I snatched up in the middle of the car build. Now that my Datsun is mostly "done" I am getting to work on the 550. The first thing to do was remove all the ugly off the bike. Now I am working on getting the engine running and having the bike ready for the road before I do any really drastic changes.
Since the 550 was such a better starting place, the 500 is used for parts of needed and is awaiting the day that it will be sold off.
The few interactions I've had with the forum have been great so far. I look forward to becoming more involved with this community, as well as owning two of the biggest Japanese icons from the 70s.
