Drag pipe collars?
« on: January 19, 2019, 04:47:16 PM »
I bought a set of drag pipes probably seven years ago off eBay. Used and cheap. I always wondered is there some kind of special exhaust collar used for the Mac type drag pipes or do you just bolt and go?
These pipes fit the 500/550.

Best to post a picture of the mounting end of the pipe to see if it uses stock 500/550 collars or if its actually a 750 set that would use the slip over spigots.

Or are they oval/diamond shaped flanges captured on the head end of the pipes...then you get rid of any stock stuff and bolt them on with either studs and nuts or socket heads
If it works good, it looks good...

Generally they use stock Honda hardware but I have seen drag pipes that don't tighten well over the exhaust nipples.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

They are the type with the ovaled flat from the factory welded to the pipes. I always wondered it they would seal right pr needed something extra.
