CB550K1 - swingarm bushings plastic -> bronze clarification
« on: February 02, 2019, 03:52:18 PM »
I'm preparing for worn bushings replacement.
For the replacement I underarstand those from twowheelsfrank are recommended https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB-500-550-750-Four-Schwingenlager-Bronzebuchsen-Swingarm-Bushings-Bearing/132265500481?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

looking on partzilla, seems original ones are w/o flange/collar. But those bronze ones are with.

Should I understand that going for bronze ones I will replace honda stock, positions 11, 16 and 12? (see attached partslist)

Yup, but the bushes are worn a will bet the collar is as well (part 14) and that is pricey

So, I should search for collar too, right? :(

Is there any other good alternative? Non OEM.

You'll probably be just fine with the new brass bushings.

Make sure the clearance between the bushings and the collar is NO MORE than 0.0012". Most aftermarket bronze bushings I have to (re)pull out of these arms are much looser than that.
