Ideas for a diy replacement for the square check ball blockers in accel pumps?

You know the square phenolic or brass plugs in the 77/78 Cb750f accelerator pumps? I lost one. I have the steel bb... just need to find or fashion something square and impervious to gasoline to hold the check ball in place. Ideas?

I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5. This is a place to share, learn and enjoy. I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.

Well THAT was fun. Downside? Several hours crawling around and sweeping and picking through dust and spider poop like a CSI technician. Upside? I found it... but as of yet no spring.

Try magnet fishing for the spring. Maybe one of those that looks like a golf club.
