Sticking Rear Brake
« on: April 20, 2019, 07:21:47 AM »
My 1978 CB750F has a periodic issue with the rear brake sticking from time to time. What am I looking at here to fix it? This bike sat for several years before I got it, and I think that is some or all of the problem. Thanks for any and all responses.

I have bled them once when I first acquired the bike, but will do it again. Can't recall if I removed the bleeder at the disc (don't think I did), but will this time for sure. Thank you for input.

Did a full bleed with fresh fluid (DOT3) yesterday and removed the bleeder valve. Helped it, but not sure I fixed it entirely. Piston still sticks a bit (but less so) than previously. If it does stick, can be freed by tapping the cylinder bore with your hand so piston is the issue. Maybe it will free up with fresh fluid or maybe it needs a piston kit. Thanks for your help.
