Maybe I had my priorities mixed up. The carbs havent been worked on in AGES, but the bike runs great. So I bought a $1200 tank set from Yamiya.

Im pretty sure when I put it on that I didnt distrub anything.

Now, when i turn off the bike and shut the petcock off, one of the overflow tubes leaks fuel, as much as you see in the photo, for about a minute, and then stops.

A guy I know has a new carb rack and he would sell it to me for $400 (he rebuilds carbs and is amazing!). Im tempted to just get the new rebuilt rack from him, but I dont have any experience changing carbs, and I hear it can be a nightmare.

So, stuck float? What do you think? Pics below:

And tell him you'll swap your rack and $150 for the rebuilt rack, as long as they're interchangeable.

I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!!!

This morning i took the overflow tube off the leaky carb, attached one end to compressed air. Shot air in it and fuel splattered out of the air filter and other areas. Cleaned that up, started the bike, no more leak!

The air probably dislodged the dirt or whatever was sticking the float.

Here is the hi-tech device I used.

You put a lot of money into that bike, it looks great.  Now clean those carbs.

Whatever was in there, you just blew back up into the carb/float bowl. It's still in there.

This isn’t your Instagram. Make a project thread in the project section as was recommended to you to post pictures of your bike and it’s progress.

Dude, in no world does a leaking float mean you need to spend $$$$ on an entire new carb rack. Your ‘fix’ was only moving whatever grit was there around the carb bowl. Hopefully it made it’s way to the bottom of the bowl. One would think you’d take more care in diagnosing and fixing things properly given how proud you are of your 750.

To any future sufferers of leaking carbs, what he did isn’t that great of an idea.

+1, with those carbs it takes literally just a flick of the wrist to take the float bowl off, within 5 minutes you can clean all 4 bowls thoroughly!
