Minor engine repair
« on: July 16, 2019, 04:28:20 PM »
Bike was sluggish, thought I had carbon on the valves, I found crap in the cylinders.

Ha ha - I bet it was sluggish. Were the pistons even moving ? I replaced a oil starved cam and holders on an engine a couple of years back that had been sitting around and pulled the head to lap the valves and found some seeds hiding in a bore  ;D

Is that a biblical yesterday?
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

You’d be like Johnny Appleseed, riding down the road with seeds flying out the tail pipe, haha.

I thought at first those seeds were "Wacky Tobacky" by their looks. Used to find them in furniture all the time when myself and a partner had a furniture resto and upholstery business. All kinds of cool things hiding in sofa's and chairs.   ;D

I trust you got it to turn over to get the head off it.. What did you use? I just posted a thread.. because my engine's locked up solid and I can't get it to budge (yet).. I'm very much open to suggestions...!

I'm guessing i'll find something similar inside.. a lot of rust..
