I just bought a 1976 CB550K2 (based on vin) that is pretty much in stock condition. I found only a few things wrong with it. First, there’s four pantyhose pieces as the air filters, where I expected to find air pods. Second, the front brakes don’t work. Apparently the guy who had it before was satisfied with only having rear brakes, haha. Did I mention the tires are original, from Japan?  As my first bike, I’m going to get this bike up to 100% and cruise around town.

Thinking about restoring the air box setup, doing a carb rebuild, and hitting the usual maintenance items.

Nice to meet y’all!

Tuyen

Hi Tuyen! So does the bike run ok, more or less? If so, address the front brake first. :)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Indeed, thanks for the reply!

Thank you, thank you!

Appreciate it! I found a new front blinker and installed it! Also found a complete brake system off eBay for $50 used. Front brake is working great. The bike RUNS, but not so great, I'm going to start a post about it, as it seems to differentiate itself from/among other posts with similar issues. Appreciate your reply :D
