frame bracing or not
« on: August 31, 2019, 01:36:21 PM »
hi, you guys are a lot more knowledgeable on this stuff than the UK guys. i've read a lot on here about bracing the frames on 750s, mainly for racing purposes, but i'm not sure if i need to brace my frame or not. i'm in the process of fitting cbr600f2 front and rear end to my 78 supersport and it's going well so far. i need to weld shock mounts on the swingarm and i'm nearly there. i have no intention of racing but we have some great twisties in my part of the world and i intend to have some fun trying(!) to keep up with R1s, GSXRs etc. it's quite a rare UK only model (google phil read replica) so i havent modified the frame at all. is bracing necessary for fast riding or not?

Probably not necessary for street riding but there area few places you can do it. The bottom of the triangle on either side just above the swingarm pivot, between sides just above the swingarm pivot and between the downtubes and backbone tubes. The other place is where the airbox tabs are, and a small triangle gusset will fit in there nicely.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.
