Question on carb rebuild
« on: November 03, 2019, 10:56:55 AM »
Rebuilding the car was on my 1980 CB 750 F and I’m not sure how deep I should set these needles-is it one turn backed off from tight?

On my 77 cb750 it is 1 and a half turns backed out from being screwed in all the way. But may be different on dohc

Thanks -  I know this is embarrassing given that I’m rebuilding these darn things but is that the idle mixture screw?

Thanks!

Here's a parts list for your bike if that helps

Thanks.

Well, something went wrong. Got everything re-assembled and back on the bike and it won’t fire. Not even a sputter, which seems to suggest that it’s not getting any air/fuel.  Pretty darn sure that the floats have fuel in them so must be  mixture or the needle. The Pistons were moving in sink in beautifully, so maybe I’ll pull the new mixture screws out and put the ones that were in it back in,  seems odd that 2 1/2 turns out that I won’t be getting some flow.

I did check and I do have spark.

Put the floats in upside down - oops. Forgot to photo document the before set up and memory (and mechanical skills) failed me.
