I'd soak them slugs bout a week in some brake fluid, atf mix!
An old diesel mechanic taught me that brake fluid melts carbon!

It was a 10,000 mile engine with 10 oil changes. Then the bike got wrecked and sat in a barn for a couple decades at some point the PO took the carbs off and left it with nothing plugging the manifolds. I bent my homemade 6 ton hydraulic press trying to press them out and bought a 20 ton Harbor freight one that did the job. I don't think it hurt the block, it might be good to bore at least a few sizes over.

I tried rocking the bike, putting a pipe wrench on the dyno, then used a ratchet strap to leave tension on it. As you can see that was one man's folly. The PO loved that bike, maybe why I've worked to save what I can. I sold front frame parts to a member and it lives on today, at least on paper.

The rust was so tight the liquids didn't really get past the top. Evaporust might have eventually worked, even pepsi was suggested. I went with brute force.

It's a shame for the lack of a few minutes to cover/plug the intakes that damage happened. Cyls 2 & 3 look like the inside of a cast iron pump that had been stored for decades without being drained. I'm surprised you didn't punch through the pistons with the press.

I used round pipe to spread the load, there are hammer marks where I tried to pound them out early on. I have other good running cylinders with broken fins. I may try a liner swap if my tig welding doesn't get them fixed. My buddy that welded some fins before at his shop is getting away from automotive. He's seeing fewer working class guys that he likes to work for with good projects and more rich guys that want the moon but never want to pay their bills.

If you have another set of jugs with good bores you may be able to press the liners out and swap them then do a slight over bore for essentially a new set of cylinders. I don't know if the ones in the pic can be bored out enough to get rid of the pits. They look pretty deep.
