1974 Honda CB 750 carburetor piece
« on: October 30, 2019, 04:58:18 PM »
Whats up everyone, I been working on this bike for the last year and been putting it aside cause im missing a piece that holds the throttle spring. I've tried looking for a replacement part for it but cant seem to find it anywhere on the net. Does anyone have an idea of what im referring to? ill post some pics of where its suppose to go.

Here’s where that little holder piece I believe is suppose to be.

That is actually just a small piece of flat metal shaped like a pill capsul with a hole in the middle of it to secure your throttle spring, it just sits in between the two center carbs. You can easily make this with a dremel or even a bench grinder, take about 10minutes.

Chang go to a friends house and use their crap lol thats what i do when im in a bind and dont have the right tool for the job, as far as finding the correct flat type metal just look around in ur junk drawer or a hardware store, something like a small door hinge plate or something off an old junky appliance etc would work well to make the part you need... measure the distance and (depth) of the holes in the carb and measure the diameter of the holes and you can make a perfect replica with very little headache... the only the thing that secures this piece is just the two crabs being held together by the backing plate, otherwise it rotates freely in the carb casting holes. They made it so simple it seems like it needs to be more complicated lol

If you do make it yourself make it from a piece of stainless steel. The original was Zinc plated to keep it from rusting.

I have an extra. How badly do you want it?  ;D
You only go around once in life so it might as well be on a motorcycle.
