Supersport gas tanks vs later model K tanks
« on: December 03, 2019, 06:00:48 PM »
Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows of the later model K7/K8 tanks are the same as supersport tanks, they look pretty similar.

If not how different are they?

I'm trying to source a new tank for my K8 in decent condition and I'm wondering if it's possible to fit a supersport tank as it looks fairly similar.

Thanks

Will likely fit ok but the tanks are very different and might not match up to the seat very well.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.

I don't see them as similar , I think F is longer, and will hit seat.
Another difference, they tend to cost twice as much..

I've got a K7 (black) tank in decent condition, needs new paint, petcock might be stolen from it, or missing the important O-ring in the middle of it. If you still have yours, it could transplant? I used this one as my fuel-feed tank for rebuilds until someone here kindly sent me a Motion-Pro fuel bottle (much more convenient!).

After a bit of research yeah it's just over an inch longer so I will have to trim the seat a bit. No problem

I'm more worried about the read mounting rubber thing lining up
