Topic: 1975 cb750F Muffler Number?

Is the muffler the same on ‘75 and ‘76 cb750F? Can anyone tell me the number stamped on the muffler? Thanks! John D.

Pictured is 1975, not sure about 76’ but I believe the mount is different.

That's a tough one, Hallzy: since the F0 (and F1) is 35+ lbs heavy on the right side, many of them that have survived have a sizeable flat spot right about where the picture above shows the muffler, bike having fallen over that way in someone's garage - very common.

I have a complete F1 header and pipe if, in the end, he finds no other options. The hangar bracket is in a slightly different position, would need an extra bracket bolted to the existing one to hold the F1 version up.

I think Hondaman mis-spoke there.  75 f0 and 76 f1 should have same exhaust, mount and all.  77-78 f2 has a different mount, muffler, and headers.

75F and 76F are identical except for paint colors. This statement does not include a few changes they made during the model years as updates such as the rear master cylinder made in the middle of the 75 model run, etc

I have had a couple useable originals in the last couple years, really were only good enough for a rider quality level bike or someone going for an original unrestored.  But really, if you plan on riding your bike, there is no reason to spend hours searching and/or big dollars.  The original muffler is soooo big and ugly and heavy and absolutely silent.  Headers are also extremely heavy, making for such an improvement with any decent aftermarket 4 into 1.  And I am not talkin about 8 pounds and a few ounces....Hondaman was not exagerating when he mentioned 30 pounds!  And I don't really think the market is there yet for the f models, to require a 100 point restoration.  A mint F is still gonna sell for thousands less than a k1 or earlier.

Thanks all. I have a rally good aftermarket system on my cb750F. Super light and sounds great, but the rest of the bike is very Stock, so just looking to find the right bits.

I gave up. I knew I would NOT find a NOS exhaust and wasn't going to settle for another used one. Nice Kerker, from when they were reasonably priced, on one and a Delkevic on the other.
