What wire does this one plug into? (Solved)
« on: January 12, 2020, 09:15:05 PM »
What wire does this one plug into?  Pic attached.  Thanks

Just kidding!  ;D  I love you guys!

I ordered a replacement harness from a well known aftermarket supplier, and been struggling all day to figure out how to get
running lights and turn signals all working in order and i think i have finally figured it out.

I have 2 wire front turn signals, and I believe, (since i have not tried it yet), i need 3 wire front turn signals for this replacement harness situation they sent me.
this is in conjunction with the left and right switches they sent me.

wish me luck we will know by tues when i get a chance to grab a pair of 3 wire signals.  fingers crossed

sorry forget to add 1973 cb750k with aftermarket repro wiring harness, repro switches, and aftermarket signal lamps.

Which bike?
I ordered aftermarket switches and main harness to my CB750 K2. All wiring, lamps and switches new.
I verified all wires from switches, marked them.wirh tape with my notes.
I had rhe bike circuit diagram beside me.
I got it all right at first connection attempt.

I had issues to faulttrace strange errors caused by bad quality idiot LED bulbs that started to pop one by one after a minute or 2. Replaced them with correct bulbs and fine after that.

Oil pressure and neutral need a grounded circuit to lit which was easy to measure and understand what's wrong.

Use diagram, read and understand for an hour or so, then connect and it will work fine if fuse and bulbs are connected. My K2 has only 1 fuse.

The aftermarket wirings have some minor coloring differencies. You'll see and hear when.testing all swirches with a buzzer before connect them all.

The only thing that puzzled me was the blinker buzzer. I got a GL1000 version with 3 wires. Diagram needed to see which I did not need to connect

You only need 3 wire blinkers if you have plastic bodied ones, normal one ground through the body, fork ear, shell bolt and nut then the green wire on thenut. Blinker colours in loom are orange one side other light blue. Running lights are same colours with white stripe(in Honda looms)

Went to cycle gear bought a set of 3 wire amber turn signals, that come with black, black/white & red wires.

left side: black/white to green ground, red to orange/white, black to orange.
right side: black/white to green ground, red to blue/white, black to blue.

works perfect, runnings light work with the on off switch on right control, turn signals work in unison with rear signals (2 wire, b/w to g, black to blue or orange) and buzzer and signal lamp on handle bar clamp

now to get the horn working. last one need the contact inside cleaned.  letting some oil pen the screws to access the internals without stripping those tiny screw heads.
