Spares to carry
« on: January 31, 2020, 09:00:55 PM »
I will be taking my 550 on a trip North to Cairns and back. The bike is sound and i have every confidence but what spare are worthwhile carrying ? I have done this trip on modern bikes and don’t carry any spares only tools but maybe electrical problems could afflict an older bike. Your thoughts please.

yeah...points and CONDENSERS if you are still running those, lots of fuses, safety wire, electric wire and some tape.  That is about all I ever needed in over 100,000 miles on these
If it works good, it looks good...

Excellent just what i was hoping to hear. Is it worth fitting electronic ignition? If that brakes it’s un-fixable, ?points you can always fix?
