cb500 meter damper oil?
« on: February 18, 2020, 01:10:21 PM »
So i've finished taking my meters apart. Not sure where i should put the damper oil in? ive read something about people drilling holes in some kind of resorvair and sealing it with nailpolish. Guess the cb500 meters doesnt have a closed one? I will only fit 2-3 drops in here when the shaft gets back into place, there is some kind of really sticky oil in there already so perhaps it does stay in place. Is this correct?

100k or 50k Rc oil is the question?

The hairspring on that movement will need to be trued before it will work properly again. If you are not sure what I mean, you will need the  services of a competent watchmaker.

This meter is already broken beyond repair. The shaft is bent aswell as the magnetic rotor. But a perfect time to learn. Letting it hang like that in the hairspring might bend it out of shape I am aware of. But I am not sure if what you ment is that the hairspring is what keeps the meeter from flickering? I'm no clocksmith but I would like to think that the magnet and the spring are counterworking forces and the oil keeps I more stable?
