Is this caliper okay to use??
« on: April 12, 2020, 08:18:20 PM »
Got this caliper on eBay to do dual disc upgrade, and noticed the area at the bottom where it looks like it may be damaged.

The notch cutout at the bottom doesn’t look as square and crisp as on my other caliper.

Does this look okay to use??

Its fine after you have cleaned it all up and got piston out. Probably a hamfisted PO with a big screwdriver prying out the static pad

It should be fine. The pad that side doesn't move within the holder and should also have a cotter pin that keeps it from falling out.

Gotcha okay great. Indeed when I started cleaning it up, it looked like it was looking better than in the beginning.

Also, can you confirm if the calipers were different on the 550F VS the 550K?

I have a 77 550K, so my second caliper for a dual disc needs to be from a 77-78 550K? Or will 550F calipers fit too?

Or does the second caliper have to be from a 550F?
