Just joined the club! Glad to be here.

I picked up this CB750 for FREE! My uncle was renting out a house he owns, when the tenants stopped paying rent. He kicked them out and they left a ton of junk. Lucky for me, this bike was a part of that pile my uncle was going to throw away!!! (I'll cross the title and registration bridge when I get there). Engine turns when I kick it, electrical doesn't look too bad, it ran 3 years ago and it doesn't have too much rust damage (it was under a car port). Here's how I found it:

A shot of the left and right, as well as the back. The bike had been in the driveway when the tenant's "nemesis" light their car on fire! It melted the lights so I'll be going aftermarket on those.

I've done a few minor things that'll be in the next post, but I'm working on the carburetor right now.

Other than fiddling with it to get it running I wouldn't invest much in it till I got a title. It would be a shame to have to give it back after sinking cash into it. If it's all legit and the owner abandoned it...lucky you!!

Other than fiddling with it to get it running I wouldn't invest much in it till I got a title. It would be a shame to have to give it back after sinking cash into it. If it's all legit and the owner abandoned it...lucky you!!

Benefit of all online classes: more time to work on the bike! Had to take off the exhaust headers, but I got it up on a jack so I can pivot around on the porch.





Pulled the carburetors and stripped them all the way down. Definitely a ton of gunk in there!



Put all the pieces (careful to save all gaskets that didn't come in the replacement jets/gasket kit) into some carb cleaner. I've rebuilt a few Edelbrock and Holley carbs before. Anything I should look out for?





As always, I'm just a college kid who's new to bikes, so I'll take any advice, tips or tricks!

If you can do a Holley, this will be a piece of cake! 

Most important thing is dont use the aftermarket [cheap china] carb kits.  Confirm the jets you have are genuine Keihin...
